Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself

In lands near and far from here,

The people lust for wars of fear,

Not with swords and shields alone,

But for words to send a grave of stone,

Freedom gave and freedom returned,

In the end the grave was rightfully earned…

Where Once We Stood – A Poem

desert-fantasy-wallpaper-16502-17040-hd-wallpapers.jpgWHERE ONCE WE STOOD
– A POEM BY
MAGGIE LYNN HERON-HEIDEL
Where once there came a gilded city
that built into the sky,
until the day the rain never came
and the once plentiful well ran dry.
Citizens cried upon her ruin
never a care for her lost,
their freedom gone and voices quiet
too late now to ponder the cost.
Will a hero arise to save them all
or will the government decry,
we love control, won’t let it go,
for freedom was always nothing but lies…

– Inspired by the setting of my new novel…
Or reality if you should choose to see it that way.

A World In Free Fall

The World In Free Fall
A poem
“Cheek to cheek, sigh to sigh,
the world goes by, eye to eye.
Social media, we connect,
past behind, no retrospect.
C.E.R.N. abide, the world in fall,
control or swim, we or all.”
